Sprintcars have been described as the Formula One of speedway, Australia’s second-largest attended form of motor racing. The appeal and spectacle of sprintcar racing prompted former triple World Champion Jackie Stewart to describe it as ‘auto racing’s last great frontier’.

Burning pure alcohol fuel, these open-wheel race-cars weigh in at around 1200 pounds (550kg). The 410 cubic inch aluminium engines pump out a staggering 850 horsepower, making them the fastest accelerating closed course type of race-cars running today, due to the massive power-to-weight ratios. Racing in Australia on mainly quarter-mile tracks, where speeds of over 200kph produce wheel-to-wheel racing and four-wheel-drifts that keep the fans on the edge of their seats.

The huge ‘wing’ above the roll cage improves aerodynamics and provides an additional safety factor, as well as offering a high-visability mobile billboard for sponsors.
